Progress, sometimes happens slowly but in our case we are heading along at a steady rate. On Saturday, I went up to pull the cover off the caravan and get things tidied up and do an inventory of the things we have in the van and the things I need to further accomplish. Mission accomplished. the cover is off and I have partially made the bed. Partially, because the doona cover which I was meant to take up with me is still in the garage! Cleaned out the boot area in the Caravan and listed all the stuff in  there. Later this week I can go up and complete the task. Today is to be dedicated to catching up on my Uni study and preparing my next and final assignment for this unit. Onward and upward as they say! Our memory foam mattress topper strategically placed on the mattress because I am struggling to get it out of the packaging! Ah Well, I got there! A strategically placed sunburst to signify theat we are approaching a 'Brand New HOLIDAY!!'
Hi everybody; Wow; time is passing very quickly now and we have been just finalising the details with the house renovations. Today the photos, for our photo wall, are going to be selected and printed. When we have those up and done, we will be well and truly organised. I'll do a little bit of gardening out the back and that's about all there is to be done. Tomorrow will be a big day, I am going up to the caravan and I will be pulling all of the stuff out to clean it and just do some preparation. The cover will come off and I have to fix the new Jockey wheel to the van. Today's post is just a few comments to remind you all that I am still here and keeping the blog going until we get on the road in Ernest. That is when I will start to blog some real information about our trip. Thank's for continuing to check out our blog, I see that there is a constant stream of visits! Richard
Hi to All; Sorry that I have been so tardy posting on the blog lately. Still, I have been busy. We have finally painted the garage now, and I have put up all of the blinds and hung all of the pictures on the walls! The only thing left to do is our photo wall, which means I have to get busy, printing some photos. My first trip out to the Caravan has now happened and my plan is to get the covers off the van this Saturday to start sprucing everything up, cleaning it out and then we will restock it for our trip! I'm getting excited now!! Finally, I have finished planning our trip around Australia, and I will post a link at the end of the blog today. It took so much longer to do the planning than I had expected, so I pass on my apologies. So if you are interested in having a look, just click on the link below! Wiki Camps Map of our holiday plan
Good morning once again. Well at least for those of you in Australia it is Good Morning! I see I have had some visitors looking at the blog from other countries i.e. Germany, Israel and Peru. So to you guys and all of our friends and family here in Australia, Thanks for looking. Today I don't have a lot of news to tell and once again there is no Wiki Camps map to show our future itinerary though I am about two thirds of the way through completing it. Promises, Promises! Yes it will be posted but I just can't settle on all of the destinations. To wet your appetite though, I have decided to post a few photos from one of our previous trips as an indicator of the sorts of things we will be posting this time. Check thenm out, enjoy and feel free to comment if you wish. This is taken at Kings Canyon, 2017. The ancient Aboriginal Ochre Mine in Tjoritja National Park. Ormiston Gorge, Tjoritja National Park. Renovations slowly coming to a close now. Putting the finishing touches on the garage with some well needed paint. Warehouse racking all put up in place! Yes I had myself in a place of happy delusion. Just as all was coming together the best laid plans of men and Richard Hicks came tumbling down! The work Bench designed to save Janelle's back by lifting the washing machine and dryer off the ground is an epic failure. First spin of the washer and it becomes apparent that the declarations of future doom (from my beloved Nellie Maree) are vindicated and this well laid plan is about to be abandoned! Another use for the work bench or dispatching it to eBay is now highly likely. Once again no Wiki camp map to show our intended travel route but rest assured, it will eventually be posted. My only excuse is that my time has been a little dominated by activities in the garage, (painting and building).
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, our retaining wall and steps at the front of the house have been finished. Janelle and I are so glad that it is finally finished. Now, it just clean up the mud and mess on the fence and driveway and then remove all of our unwanted stuff from the garage before I paint in the garage. Lord, Lord, I can see the light; at the end of the tunnel that is! Sorry I promised that I would have a link to a Wikicamps map detailing the rough idea of our upcoming trip but I apologise it is not yet finished. Eventually I will get it up and running so that everyone can see where we are going. I hope my ramblings are not too boring, I'm still getting used to writing a post every couple of days.  Wishing you all well!

Slowly, Slowly, we have progress.

Hopefully today we will see some steps going onto our front patio. Yesterday we have had a little more progress on our retaining wall and I can see that we will actually get this finished at some point in the future. We are pretty happy that the wall is done and it serves the intended purpose. In terms of our prospective adventure, I have been preparing a Wiki Camps map with a tentative outline of just where we will be going and some dates so that some of you can follow us on the way. I will post that map tomorrow or later today.  I can't help but start to get a little bit excited now, so with a little more planning all seems to be coming together.
