Moscow 1987

Taken in Moscow in 1987, these photos include St Basils, The Gum Department store and some other Orthodox churches. Unlike now, these churches only had old rubbish piled up inside them because this was before the “Wall” came down and religious worship was still banned in the Soviet Union at that time. Of course it is no longer called “The Soviet Union!”

Slowly, Slowly, we have progress.

Hopefully today we will see some steps going onto our front patio. Yesterday we have had a little more progress on our retaining wall and I can see that we will actually get this finished at some point in the future. We are pretty happy that the wall is done and it serves the intended purpose. In terms of our prospective adventure, I have been preparing a Wiki Camps map with a tentative outline of just where we will be going and some dates so that some of you can follow us on the way. I will post that map tomorrow or later today.  I can't help but start to get a little bit excited now, so with a little more planning all seems to be coming together.
