After Woodgate we went further south and stayed in Maryborough for a week.

Maryborough is a town we would normally pass through on our way somewhere else as we didn't realise it had much to offer. Our decision to stay was mainly because it was a cheap place to stay and offered easy access to the area around Maryborough, to places like Hervey Bay and the Fraser Coast.

To our surprise we found a town which offered much more than we had anticipated. The Portside area of Maryborough is just full of history connected to Australia's early development, its history of Immigration and the best Military Museum Australia has to offer. Many would say a better display of Australia's military history than even available in Canberra; Australia's Capital city.

This added to the expected access to the surrounding area made our visit to Maryborough very rewarding.

Again I have a few photos to show what we have seen:

Hi everybody; Wow; time is passing very quickly now and we have been just finalising the details with the house renovations. Today the photos, for our photo wall, are going to be selected and printed. When we have those up and done, we will be well and truly organised. I'll do a little bit of gardening out the back and that's about all there is to be done. Tomorrow will be a big day, I am going up to the caravan and I will be pulling all of the stuff out to clean it and just do some preparation. The cover will come off and I have to fix the new Jockey wheel to the van. Today's post is just a few comments to remind you all that I am still here and keeping the blog going until we get on the road in Ernest. That is when I will start to blog some real information about our trip. Thank's for continuing to check out our blog, I see that there is a constant stream of visits! Richard
